Finding your work life balance โš–๐Ÿ˜

FEELING LIKE YOU HAVEN'T QUITE GOT THE BALANCE RIGHT?

Here are some signs you might not have the balance right yet.

You constantly feel tired, you find it hard to find โ€˜meโ€™ time, you are more impatient or irritable than usual, you canโ€™t remember the last time we had fun, thereโ€™s not enough time to spend with friends & family, you're struggling to focus at work or you feel like we have too much to do, all the time.

It can be easy sometimes for our work life balance to become unbalanced. However, finding that sweet spot is one of the best things you can do for your work and home life, and there are a few things you can do to help even the scales.

These are some things you can focus on for a better work life balance.

1) Set boundaries around work hours ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป This is really important with the increased number of staff working from home. It can be easy to work longer hours with the laptop just sitting there. Make sure you set clear start and finish times

2) Don't be afraid to unplug ๐Ÿ”Œ With technology and smart phones it can be easy to always be switched on even outside of work hours. Checking the odd email or phone call as they come through after hours. Have a go at switching your phone off or leaving it in a different room away where you can't check it.

3) Prioritise your health ๐Ÿฉบ. Your overall physical, emotional and mental health should be your main concern. Looking after health will set you up better to enjoy your time in and outside of work.

4) Take breaks when you need them ๐Ÿ. We all eventually get to a point where we need a break or holiday. Try and schedule these breaks before you get to a point where you are feeling overworked or overwhelmed.

5) Make time for yourself ๐Ÿค— While your job is important, it shouldn't be your entire life. You were an individual before taking this position, and you should prioritise the activities or hobbies that make you happy.

6) Make time for your loved ones ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง When planning time with your loved ones, create a calendar for romantic and family dates. It may seem weird to plan one-on-one time with someone you live with, but it will ensure that you spend quality time with them without work-life conflict.
